PicSynth – Paint your waveform

The PicSynth is a software based experimental Synthesizer, wich uses the signal of a camera to reproduce a drawn  waveform as playable audiosignal. A quick jam with the PicSynth using Ableton Live to create loops and SparkLe to programm drums.   The external hardware is made out of black medium-density fibreboard, aluminium and PMMA.The electronic part is realized with some led stripes,  a knocked down webcam, some potentiometers and buttons and an Arduino Uno. The software is patched in MAX/MSP, wich has great audio abilities and is fully integrated in Ableton live.
